3 Things for tonight

That whole student thing is setting in again, sorry I didnt have time to put up a full review of tonights game but here is what you need to know in a nutshell.

1.Evan Turner–Stop him…goodluck with that

2.Inside-Outside game..if you don’t have it you won’t win

3.Shoot well…sounds silly, but the offense has been semi-clicking but the shots just won’t fall

One Response to “3 Things for tonight”

  1. This 2010 PSU men’s basketball team in a nutshell: “Talor Battle and the seven dwarves”

Regardless of an occasional contribution from the surrounding role players, Talor Battle leads the team in scoring, rebounds, assists and steals, a staggering set of statistics when you think about it.

In retrospect, I think it’s amazing that this motley band won at ACC contender Virginia and hung around in almost every conference game threatening to steal a win.

But when you look at each “dwarf” individually, what do you see? – a young inexperienced freshman? or a guy who cannot hit an easy shot from inside the paint? or an outside shooter who goes through an 0-fer drought every other game? The dwarves simply can not be counted upon to take any pressure off of Snow White. The most consistant role player out there seems to be DJ Jackson, and his stats don’t even come close.

I’ve noticed it all season; without last year’s Jamelle Cornley and Stanley Pringle to share the statistical burden with Battle, the rest of the current squad just does not have the talent, like moves to the basket or accuracy outside or judgment handling and passing the ball (ie. those four stats) to win at this level.

Notice that I said “win”, I did not say “compete”, because they can compete and have competed on several occasions, but as we all know, competing means nothing – winning is everything.
